[ Polls %26 Surveys ] Open Question : How old were you when you lost your virginity?
[ Other - Health ] Open Question : I think I have Kyphosis, but I'm not sure.?
I am currently 22 and my back has been curved since I was in high school. It never caused me any problems, however when I graduated and started going to the gym I noticed I would get severe discomfort in my upper back. I looked around on google, and based on the symptoms I have, I think I have Kyphosis. Here is a picture of it:

It isn't really pain exactly, but it does develop into severe discomfort if I stand for long periods of time. It almost feels like muscular discomfort and I just want to stretch it out to make it go away. I first noticed it 3 months after graduation (2006) when I got a retail job and was on my feet for most of the day. I had my back checked and xrayed about a year ago, but the doctor simply gave me a prescription for some meds and some stretches to do and said it should go away in a couple months. He gave me no indication that I had any serious condition. The pain meds help a little, but not enough. The stretches relieve the discomfort for a few minutes, but they do nothing in the long run. I wouldn't mind my back being curved so much as long as there wasn't any pain.
So, I guess I'm just wondering if what I have could be kyphosis, and what the treatments for this are at my age; if surgery is an option and if I did have it, would I continue to be able to do back intensive exercises at the gym. Thanks in advance.
